With the price and performance of a supercar, the 2026 Lamborghini Urus takes the automaker’s trademark cuts-and-creases design philosophy and applies it to an SUV. Capable of both blasting to 60 mph in a claimed 3.4 seconds (we think it’ll be even quicker in our hands) and transporting your mother sedately to her bridge club luncheon, it almost succeeds in making the irrational somewhat rational. A plug-in-hybrid (PHEV) powertrain fuses a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 gas engine and electric motor for a peak combined output of 789 horsepower. That’s enough grunt to push the Urus all the way to a top speed of 194 mph, says Lamborghini. The battery pack also provides the option of EV-only operation for an EPA-estimated 35 miles, and the electric motor helps to flatten the torque curve compared to the now-discontinued gasoline-only SE and Performante trims – Car and Driver Magazine
